ABSTRACT
In the present paper, the research results of evaluation of economic convergence are summarized, while emphasizing the essential pros and cons of the applied methods. Furthermore, the concept of convergence is specified, the types of convergence are discussed within the framework of evaluation methods. During the process of empirical research, after the application of the methods of regression and cluster analysis, the groups of countries in European Union were identified, evaluating β and σ possibilities of convergences in them. In three groups of countries that were distinguished, β and σ convergences are approved only in two counties, and in one group, involving old member countries of European Union, convergence does not take place.
