ABSTRACT
The article presents a study which focuses on the incorporation of the seasonality of leaf litterfall into the ORCHIDEE model to describe the evergreen tropical forest phenology. The ORCHIDEE model can be used to understand the interactions between the atmosphere and biosphere and in the analysis of the feedbacks between climate and vegetation cover change. It adds that the seasonal variations in net primary production (NPP) is induced by the modifications in the leaf litterfall scheme.
