ABSTRACT
The article features Omaha, Nebraska director, producer and screenwriter Alexander Payne. He claims that artists enjoy a lifelong exploration of their roots so he comes home whenever he can to work and shoot films in Nebraska. It traces his family history to 1913 when his grandfather emigrated from Greece to Lincoln, Nebraska, noting Payne's childhood in Omaha. He admits that it would be a dream-come-true to make a movie about old Omaha and use digital technology to travel back in time.
