ABSTRACT
The article reports on a community relations program started at Brooklyn Park, Minnesota in December 2009 to strengthen relations between residents and the police department. The program's range has expanded from gathering ideas for creating safer neighborhoods to include everything from garbage collection to raising chickens at home. The Brooklyn Park has received a City Cultural Diversity Award from the National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials for creating the program.
