ABSTRACT
Leading global economic organizations this week joined private sector institutions in slashing their China GDP growth forecasts for 2012 – a clear sign the downturn is continuing to take its toll on the world’s second-largest global economy. The World Bank slashed its outlook for China to 7.7 percent from 8.2 percent while the International Monetary Fund trimmed its forecast to 7.8 percent from eight percent previously.
