ABSTRACT
Introductory rates run for a set time, after which standard rates apply. Some initial rates apply to purchases and balance transfers, but not all do. Cardholders who maintain long-term balances and who do not want to switch cards often to make use of initial deals should opt for a good standardrate deal instead.
