ABSTRACT
SADLY, there is little chance of Eric Pickles joining Ian Hislop and Paul Merton on the satirical BBC TV show Have I Got News For You any time soon. 'We are banned from doing it,' says the Communities Secretary. 'Ministers have been told they can't appear on it. It is a rule. William Hague did it - and very good he was, too - but that was before he was Foreign Secretary. However, there is no ban on Opposition politicians such as John Prescott doing it and making fools of themselves.' Shame. Pickles is one of the few members of the Cabinet who could hold his own.
