ABSTRACT
AN Irish Times poll reveals that a whopping 79% of the Irish public want Barack Obama to win the US presidential election, with a crummy 5% backing Mitt Romney. But the Irish Times has done more than its fair share to ensure this lop-sided outcome by offering us daily analysis from Romney haters Paul Krugman, Maureen Dowd and Lara Marlowe. Fair and balanced it most certainly ain't. The one curiosity in the poll was that of Labour supporters interviewed, 3% said they were backing Romney. Some of those Workers Party/Official IRA types have clearly travelled a very, very long way.
