This article reports that law-enforcement agencies in Florida used a private, multi-vendor 700 MHz Long Term Evolution (LTE) network during the Republican Party National Convention in August 2012 in Tampa Bay. The officers used the network operating on 20 MHz of Band 14 public-safety broadband spectrum in the 700 MHz band to share video, voice and data communications via smart devices. A comment on the network's performance from Morgan Wright, an advisor for Cisco Systems, is also included.
