IR magnetotransmission and magnetoresistance of NdSrMnO manganite films on LaAlO substrate

NdSrMnO manganite films on LaAlO substrate exhibit a large negative magnetotransmission [( − )/ ≈ −14%] at a wavelength of 8.8 μm in a magnetic field of H = 8 kOe and a large negative magnetoresistance [(ρ − ρ)/ρ ≈ −50%] in a field of H = 10 kOe at a temperature T = 225 K. The influence of oxygen vacancies in the manganite lattice on the magnitude of observed effects is discussed. The high values of magnetotransmission and magnetoresistance allow NdSrMnO films to be recommended for use in magnetic-field-controlled optoelectronic devices and in spintronics.
