ABSTRACT
The article describes four models of after school programs for U.S. independent schools, including the childcare model, the enrichment activities model, the club program model, and the hybrid model, which is profitable. Working parents, parental involvement in after school programs, and training for childcare workers are discussed. Advice for school administrators for creating hybrid programs is presented, such as determining program goals and finding program space in school buildings.
