ABSTRACT
The authors discuss the study on the factor-free derivation of a pluripotent cell type using a c-Kit+ subpopulation of human amniotic fluid cells. The authors say that the potential of human embryonic stem cells (hESC) to differentiate into any cell type of the human body has raised the hope on its use to treat human diseases. They mention that the future clinical applications of induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells will depend on its ability to improve the cells' genome.
