ABSTRACT
An article comparing the opportunities for vocational training for paraprofessionals in archives, libraries, and information and document assistance in Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein is presented. Educational institutions offering library science programs, as well as their legal framework, are discussed. Statistics about library technician trainees in the three countries are also provided and analyzed.
