Simple circuit suits quadrature detection

A reprint of the article "Simple Circuits Suits Quadrature Detection," by SL Black and HL Maddox in the August 22, 1985 issue of "EDN" is presented. A circuit with a bilateral switch is cited to determine whether two sine waves are in quadrature. The voltage is described to be proportional to the number of degrees out of quadrature the input signals are. When the two sine waves are in quadrature, equal areas above and below ground are revealed to manifest in the output of pin two.
