ABSTRACT
The article reports that eyewear designers are creating more products made of exotic materials like leather, pearl, and buffalo horn as well as including precious stones in their fashion collections. Topics include how the use of expensive materials has increased the price of sunglasses and eyewear, how eyewear brand Chrome Hearts was inspired by the rock stars of the 1970s to create 24-carat gold aviator sunglasses, and why luxury goods brands are creating less-expensive sunglasses.
