ABSTRACT
The article reports a study which was conducted to determine the correct method for detection of influenza A(H1/N1)pdm09. Indirect or direct fluorescent antibody (IFA or DFA, respectively) and rapid influenza diagnostic tests (RIDT) were compared. The results revealed that RIDT offers quicker results with similar sensitivity, requires less experienced personnel to perform, and utilizes less laboratory personnel time and equipment.
