ABSTRACT
The article focuses on how managers could find out on what really happens in his/her department by wandering around. The authors Tom Peters and Robert Waterman have made popular of a term "managing by wandering around," which means staying in direct touch with the front-line people who are doing the work. The purpose of wandering around is to listen to employees and ask them how things are going and encourage them to make suggestions for how to improve operations.
