ABSTRACT
The article reports on the move of the National Aeronautics & Space Administration (NASA) to decrease the deadly effects of wake vortex turbulence in the U.S. It notes that vortex is a threat to relatively small aircraft operating in close proximity to large airliners and jumbo jets. It says that the cause of turbulence is a powerful air currents that swirl backwards and outward from the wings of flying aircraft.
