ABSTRACT
The article provides information on studies which examined the link between vegetarianism and eating disorders. An estimated 1% of the U.S. population identify themselves as vegetarians. Psychologist Dr. Alix Timko and colleagues observe the link between adherence to a vegetarian diet and the onset and maintenance of disordered eating. The three categories of vegetarians are identified.
