The article describes the Cumberland Hospital for Children & Adolescents in New Kent, Virginia which offers specialized care for children and adolescents with disabilities, injuries, or lifelong illnesses compounded by emotional and/or behavioral problems. The hospital was renovated and presented an outdoor themed environment that was gender neutral, appropriate for all ages, bright and energetic. This new theme encourages communication between staff and patients and provides a healing experience.
