ABSTRACT
The article discusses the contributions of the sociological theory of Norbert Elias and Pierre Bourdieu into the field of social sciences. Following Corcuff, we can place the works of these two authors in constructivist theories. Theories which produce a displacement of the object of sociology, neither society nor individuals, conceived as separate entities, but the relations between individuals. This will address the rejection of pure theory, the multidisciplinary approach and the epistemological vigilance in constructing the object of study, to overcome the subjectivism-objectivism opposition, the social explanation, historical and relational social phenomena, the conception social agonist, and, finally, the main theme running through the works of two authors with different but complementary.
