ABSTRACT
The article focuses on value-based purchasing (VBP) reducing costs and improving the quality of care. Insights from HealthLeaders Media Council members are presented such as Ninnescah Valley Health System Inc. chief executive officer (CEO) Gary Tiller who thinks it is a ruse and does not have much faith in it. Knox Community Hospital chief marketing officer (CMO) Judy Schwartz, thinks VBP is not monitoring quality, and will not have an impact on quality.
