BT dials up weak results

July 2012
Daily Mail;7/26/2012, p48
BT spooked investors yesterday as it revealed weak corporate sales from the battered financial sector and an underpressure performance in crisis-hit Europe. Shares in the telecoms giant - whose BT Ireland division here serves business - fell 5pc after it posted a 6pc fall in revenues to 5.8bn in the three months to June 30, reflecting 'tough conditions in Europe'. Richard Hunter, head of equities at Hargreaves Lansdown Stockbrokers, said: 'BT has had to put its progress on hold, as sales declined in the quarter and the market reaction was unforgiving.'
