ABSTRACT
The article discusses the results of the Parent Representation Project (PRP), a pilot program created in Washington State in 2000 to enhance the quality of defense representation for parents in dependency and termination hearings. It cites the five goals including reducing the number of continuances requested by attorneys. The project impact was assessed by comparing counties with PRP to those without PRP. The project reportedly shows a favorable outcome for children, parents and the state.
