ABSTRACT
The authors comment on a case report by D. Seshadri and colleagues which describes an elderly patient with the rare gastrointestinal polyposis Cronkhite-Canada Syndrome (CCS) based on a combination of clinical, endoscopic and pathologic findings. The patient reported weight loss, diarrhea, dygeusia and the dermatologic triad of hyperpigmentation, alopecia and dystrophic nails. The authors note that immunosuppresion with corticosteroids or azathioprine may eradicate or lessen CCS manifestations.
