The article examines the effects of information technology (IT) on business process outsourcing (BPO). The article examines topics such as process automation software, cloud computing, and social media, examining how the technologies allow businesses to lower costs, and argues that IT allows BPO suppliers to add value. The article also looks at chief information officers (CIOs) as change agents.
