ABSTRACT
The article discusses the roles and functions of the Virginia Auditor of Public Accounts (APA). It states that APA is responsible for auditing the financial statements of the different branches of the state government, agencies such as Virginia Lottery or Alcoholic Beverage Control, and colleges and universities. It is noted that APA's audit work is government by the government auditing standards called the Yellow Book issued by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO).
