ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to retain the name of the high-fructose corn syrup. It notes that the FDA has rejected the petition from the Corn Refiners Association to change the name of high-fructose corn syrup to corn sugar. It mentions that the FDA has denied the request since sugar can only be used for food that is solid, dried, and crystallized.
