ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decision of California Legislature to authorize in 2011 a bridge adoption of supplemental materials for mathematics and English language arts in grade K-8. It notes that the exception to the call for publishers was grade eight math and intervention programs because they are not grade specific. It requires publishers with adopted programs in K-7 math and K-8 language arts to submit by fall 2011 details of how their programs align with the new standards.
