A simple inverse method for the distribution of basal sliding coefficients under ice sheets, applied to Antarctica

The article presents a study which describes a model-based method for deducing the modern spatial distribution of basel sliding coefficients under ice sheets in Antarctica. It states that the model is run forward in time, while the basal sliding coefficient at various grid point is periodically increased or decreased depending on the elevation of local ice surface. The study suggests that the model considerably reduces large-scale errors in Antarctic ice elevation.
