ABSTRACT
The ν4 bending frequency of ThF4 was measured by high-temperature infrared spectroscopy. Its value, 116 cm-1, is considerably different from estimates used in the analysis of thermochemical studies. Based on this value and the previously reported ν3, a new set of vibrational frequencies for ThF4 has been derived, which is consistent with thermochemical equilibrium studies. © 1996 American Institute of Physics.
