ABSTRACT
This paper first describes the key steps of the expression recognition process, then makes a brief overview of the task which each step should fulfill. Moreover, it introduces the commonly used classification methods and compares the advantages and disadvantages of classification methods. The article also explains several emotional space models in detail. Finally, it briefly analyzes facial expression recognition problems.
