ABSTRACT
2. Finance ministers held a conference call and discussed "progress towards a financial and fiscal union in Europe," the Treasury said. Japan's finance chief said they would work together on Spain and Greece. But lack of a joint statement suggested no major steps would be taken. Germany's fin'l regulator said efforts toward a eurozone banking union are premature and should wait for a fiscal union.
