ABSTRACT
Charge and discharge experiments of lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) batteries have been performed on the experimental platform, and experimental data and properties of LiFePO4 batteries are also studied during the charge and discharge process. Our results indicate that the charge and discharge current, depth of discharge (DOD) and state of charge (SOC) have huge impact on charge and discharge performance of the batteries. Based on these results, a management method of LiFePO4 batteries is proposed according to the charge and discharge performance of the batteries. This management method can avoid LiFePO4 batteries damage problems arising from over-charge, over-discharge and over-temperature. At the same time, this method can also slow the rate of the batteries capacity attenuation and extend the cycle life of the batteries.
