An effective parameter estimation algorithm of the visual language features

In the visual language study, the estimation of feature parameters plays an important role. This paper has selected 24 feature parameters with direct relation to speech from the MPEG-4 defined facial animation parameters to describe the visual language, combining the statistical learning method with the rule-based method, taking advantage of facial color probability distribution and the prior shape as well as the edge knowledge to trace the lip contour line and facial feature points. It has acquired a more accurate tracking result. After the filtration of the high-frequency tracking noise from the reference points, the four most prominent reference points are used to estimate the main facial motion posture. Thereby, eliminating the impact of the global movement is acquired, and finally based on the movement of facial feature points, the exact parameters of the visual language features are computed and, and it has been put into practice.
