The Optimization of Mobile Rich Media Engine based on SVG

With the rapid development of 3G mobile Internet, an increasing number of rich media applications are deployed to mobile devices. But for resources-limited mobile devices, the performance issue is always one of the main factors that impede the promotion of rich media technology. In order to improve the performance of rich media engine on mobile devices, this paper presents some optimization strategies which are carried out from following three aspects:(1) design the optimized scene tree structure taking account of memory and efficiency by analyzing the SVG element features. (2)optimize the storage space layout of customized font library to improve data locality, and to speed up text display through the memory pool allocation.(3) propose an effective algorithm for applying style against the characteristics of CSS inheritance. and to further enhance the efficiency of the algorithm through stack allocation. Test results show that these optimization strategies can effectively improve the performance of rich media engine.
