ABSTRACT
Digital Rights Management (DRM) systems always work in closed, monolithic systems to protect digital content from unauthorized access and control the way users consume, but neglect the interoperability. DRM technology and service providers seek to differentiate their value proposition through proprietary systems, so it is impossible for users to consume the content protected by one DRM system at the other DRM compliant devices. In this paper, we present a profile-based DRM system framework to support interoperability with heterogeneous devices. The proposed framework allows multiple DRM systems to seamlessly work together while requiring minimal modification to existing DRM systems.
