ABSTRACT
Nanostructured ZnO thin films were deposited onto glass substrates at 250 °C by air assited spray pyrolysis (SP) technique. The films were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). Thermoelectric power measurement were conducting using TEP setup, Electrical conductivity and gas sensing performance were conducted using static gas sensing system. These films were tested in various gases at different operating temperature. The films showed maximum response to ethanol gas. The ethanol sensing properties of the films were investigated with different thickness of film. It was found that the different thickness of film significantly affects the response of the nanostructured ZnO thin film to the ethanol. The maximum response was found for the thickness of film 362 nm. The speed of response is quick (3s) and recovery is fast (7s). The results were discussed and interpreted.
