ABSTRACT
The article reports that China's trade surplus with the U.S. was 295.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2011 while the U.S. trade deficit in March 2012 was 21.7 billion U.S. dollars. The U.S.-China Business Council said that U.S. exports to China was 103.9 billion U.S. dollars in 2011. When exports to Hong Kong are included, the 140.4 billion U.S. dollar total makes China the third-largest export market for U.S. goods. Despite the rapid growth of U.S. exports to China, the trade gap continues to widen.
