ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the efforts of Dr. Françoise Barbira Freedman, an anthropologist at Cambridge University, in developing a natural pain reliever. Freedman is hoping to derive a natural painkiller from an Amazonian plant species of the Acmella Oleracea variety. It is inferred that the Amazonian plant is being used by the Keshwa Lamas in Amazonian Peru as a remedy for toothache.
