ABSTRACT
The article discusses the use of Gulf Bridge International's (GBI) technology in crossing the Mediterranean with the first 100G Repeatered submarine Link from Xtera Communications Inc. It states that the global provider of optical networking solutions Xtera deployed its Nu-Wave OptimaTM platform in a Submarine Line Terminal Equipment (SLTE) configuration to offer 100G waves on a fiber pair on the network linking Egypt to Italy.
