ABSTRACT
The article assesses the role of business impact analysis (BIA) within the management and fulfillment of business crisis management (BCM). It identifies four problems with the BIA including the unavailability of knowledge and information about processes, the lack of knowledge at the time the BIA is created, and the non-plotting of the information from the BIA against strategic framework. The most important weakness of the BIA is identified.
