ABSTRACT
The article discusses the foundation of the Center for Environmental History (Keskkonnaajaloo Keskus KAJAK) located in Tallinn, Estonia, which was opened in the end of 2011. The Center focuses on the interdisciplinary research of the relation between human beings and the environment, improvement of the Estonian research situation, and the establishment of scientific contacts to other international research centers. Other topics mentioned in this article include the relationship between environment and philosophy, European research collaborations and research history, as well as the modern Baltic history.
