ABSTRACT
The article discusses the emergence of high bit rate and long-range communication for high-frequency acoustic modems through underwater network development. It notes that substantial increases in bit rate at commercial modem frequencies can be hindered by limited bandwidth at lower carrier frequencies. It mentions that the design of communication waveforms can be enhanced by channel properties of multipath arrivals.
