ABSTRACT
The article discusses the use of black humor in Syria in response to the popular uprising that began in 2011. The author comments on the various checkpoints that the Syrian army has installed with the help of security agencies, the popular resistance against the Syrian dictatorship in Homs, Syria, and as well as various religious-oriented jokes.
