Women's ages are irrelevant

May 2012
Evening Standard;5/25/2012, p73
IT'S encouraging to see a number of strong female candidates in the running for the position of BBC director general (May 23). But it is sad, if predictable, that the age of one of the frontrunners, Caroline Thomson, is being raised. I don't recall the last time a man's suitability to do a job was questioned when 58 years old.
