ABSTRACT
The article reports that London, England has violated the European Union (EU) air quality standards in spite of its pledge to clean up air in the city. As of April 2012, London's average coarse particulate concentrations was more tha 50 micrograms per cubic metre. A total of 39 days of poor air quality was detected by the Neasden Lane monitoring station in 2011. Both nongovernmental organizations and politicians are opposed to the city's use of dust suppressant.
