ABSTRACT
In this study, Entropy generation for elliptical ducts with internal longitudinal fins is obtained analytically for laminar flow and subjected to constant wall heat flux boundary conditions. Affecting parameters such as heat flux rate, Reynolds number, cross sectional area and relative length of fin (ß) are studied for entropy generation. It is concluded that with the increasing relative length of fin (ß) values, total entropy generation and pumping power at fixed Reynolds number increases, with increasing wall heat flux values, total entropy generation increases, however, pumping power decreases and with increasing cross sectional area values, total entropy generation and pumping power at fixed Reynolds number decreases.
