ABSTRACT
The article reports on a one-year randomized trial at East Carolina University which showed that casual video games can aid in reducing symptoms of depression and anxiety in people with clinical depression. The games used in the study were Bejeweled 2, Peggle and Bookworm Adventures from PopCap Games. It says that the findings support the possibility of using games as these as an adjunct to, or even as a replacement for, standard therapies and medication.
