ABSTRACT
The article discusses the move of the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) to propose a new deadline for the implementation of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems-10th Revision (ICD-10). It notes that the American Medical Association favors the proposed change of the CMS. On the other hand, the American Health Information Management Association urges the CMS not to delay the transition.
